Think about the future

by Miki Saxon

world.jpgIn his comment earlier, Ron Haynes from over at The Wisdom Journal said, “politicians think only about the next election, but statesmen think about the next generation.”

Think about that when you’re deciding for whom to vote.

Before you choose the ideology that makes you the most comfortable, think about your grandchildren’s children and what kind of world you want to leave as your legacy.

Where do politicians stand with you?

    Hey Miki,

Thanks for the link! I appreciate your blog and have really enjoyed your content.

Hopefully, we will get some leaders in our government that consider the long term ramifications of their policies and actions and make decisions regardless of the latest poll.

    Wishing you the greatest success!

    Ron

  2. Miki Saxon Says:

Oh, Ron, thank you—”…consider the long term ramifications…” I haven’t laughed that hard since the last Jennifer Crusie book I read.

Few in the US can even SPELL long-term let alone act on it, or are you emigrating to another planet?

  3. Ron@TheWisdomJournal Says:

I know what you mean. We seem to live in the here and now. Flip this house, credit cards with $100,000 limits, one year ARM loans. When will anyone learn?

Maybe we should start with spelling classes! ;)

  4. Miki Saxon Says:

They won’t:( The entrenched interests—banks, credit card and finance companies, payday loans, insurance, retailers, etc.—all have too much to lose.

Hmmm, maybe we can get ‘statesman’ added to the Endangered Spicies list.

  5. Ron@TheWisdomJournal Says:

Let me know if you find one. It would make for a good “Last of the Mohicans” post!

  6. Bridget Wright Says:

I think politicians (some) are akin to fast-talking used-car salesmen…they say what they need to say to make a sale!

  7. Miki Saxon Says:

I disagree, Bridget:) I think they ALL say what ever it takes to make the sale!
